Happy Monday, everyone!
There have been several assumptions made and questions asked over the last 2 months since this market was created about whether The Gypsy Rose Market is a name change, spin-off from other markets, etc.
The Gypsy Rose Market is a brand new community market. It nor I have ever used another name, nor even planned other local vendor events, markets, fairs, etc.
The Gypsy Rose Market is registered as The Gypsy Rose Market with the Galveston County Clerk’s Office in Galveston County, Texas. It is also a registered holder of a Texas Sales and Use Tax Permit with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.
The Gypsy Rose Market is also a member of the Texas Association of Fairs & Events and value their Code of Ethics.
The owner and the holder of both the DBA and Texas Sales and Use Tax Permit is me, Kristen M. Parker. I have not used any other name nor have I ever worked with or under any other event planners or names.
I started this market to fulfill a need in my local community and for no other reason. I am an artisan vendor, too. I sell my handmade items through my mother’s boutique, The Gypsy Rose Boutique.
The Gypsy Rose Boutique DBA is held by my mother, Carol Parker, and is also registered with the Galveston County Clerk’s Office in Galveston County, Texas, as well as is a registered Texas Sales and Use Tax Permit holder with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.
The Gypsy Rose Market nor I are affiliated with Shop Local Showcase (former Parker Vendor Showcase) that is owned and operated by Tiffany Parker who has no family affiliation with me.
We are also not affiliated with Parker Events that is owned and operated by Karen Perrin, and formerly assisted by Christy Lewis. In addition, we do not have an affiliation with Savvy Shopper Events that is currently owned and operated by Christy Lewis.
The Gypsy Rose Market is truly a new market that was established in March 2017. I welcome all vendors to apply for membership and/or just join us as a regular vendor for any market we have scheduled. I value good relationships with vendors and other coordinators, and do my best to keep communication open, even during times of misunderstanding.
I’m a vendor as well. I know the pros and cons of the industry, but I’m willing to open up communication and build a community where we all benefit in positive ways.
I hope this post clarifies some misunderstanding. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me to discuss them.
I look forward to building positive relationships with all of you and hope to see you at our markets and others soon!
Kristen M. Parker, The Gypsy Rose Market Coordinator
